While searching on internet , I suddenly came up with the idea of constructivism in a quote written by Ernst von Glasersfeld "... to assess the truth of your knowledge you would have to know what you come to know before you come to know it."
I struggled with the quote for some time but now, after reading the lecture, I understand what he was trying to say and thought about this in relation to my own teaching practice.
Constructivism is a theory which argues that knowledge is not something that can be passed from one mind to another but something that is built from experiencing it.As future teachers we need to encourage our students to understand through experiencing things and reflecting on those experiences. By doing this we transform them from a passive recipient of information to an active participant in the learning process. Our role is to find out what students already know and to guide them as they ask questions and find answers.
The quote illustrates contrustivist theory. So if we claim to know the truth of something, it means that we would have had to know something fully before we had even develop an understanding of it. The theory argues against the traditional approach where a teacher imports knowledge to the students.
As for the cooperative learning I would prefer to share a photo with you.
The previous class, my friend Admir and I, were a group and each of us was responsible not only for learning what is taught but also for helping each other learn. By using this kind of activity we improved our understanding of learning and created an atmosphere of achievement. We together won the second place but what is more important we learned how to cooperate and share our knowledge.
Please feel free to ask me any question!
Thank you in advance 👌

I struggled hard to understand it too. But it was made clear by your explanation. The explanation of cooperative learning is clear enough and a living example from the lecture.
ReplyDeletethank u kleant :)
DeleteThe quote you have used at the beginning of the post not only captured my attention but also made me read it a few times.Thank u for sharing that quote with us.You have explained quite well the theory of constructivism and what I appreciate more is your example from the lecture.Actually,we were all very involved in the game we played. That's a very good example because we all were part of the activity and we can really understand the idea of cooperative learning.
ReplyDeletethank u Suu :*
DeleteThe quote at the beginning grabbed my attention.
ReplyDeleteThat is one of the best ways to make someone curious and you did that.
