Webinars
Web + Seminar (a presentation, a lecture, transmitted over the web)I found it a little bit difficult reflecting on it and even more difficult and tiring were the videos as I had to stay in front of the computer for 3(three) hours. Now I would like to share my reflection on webinars, one of the best ways to expand our knowledge.
Webinar is an online meeting that combines some kind of educational presentation or training on the internet, a one-way presentation of the speaker to the participants. They are very popular due to the fact they are inexpensive, easy to produce and can attract a large number of participants. The main advantage is that no one has to travel to get to a webinar or make any special arrangements or preparations.Another advantage is that no special equipment is needed and as I mentioned before it is possible for an unlimited amount of audience to attend since it is online. It can also be recorded so that other people can view in if they can't attend the webinar.
On the other hand the use of webinars has its own disadvantages too. We know that in order to use webinars we need to use the internet and sometimes internet speed must be adequate to allow participants to view the presentation without distortion or lag time. A webinar may not work with all kinds of internet browser and it is considered as one-time event that happens live, so, if I show up late,I miss all of it.
To sum up, for us as future teachers, this could be ways to improve our board work, new ideas for exploiting reading and listening material or advice for motivating students.
Please feel free to ask me any question!
Thank u in advance👌👌
I really appreciate you honesty in your first paragraph.Thank u for sharing your ideas on the positive aspects of webinars and then in your third paragraph you have mentioned some other aspects we should consider when making use of webinars. When I reached your last paragraph I understood that there was still hope on using webinars:)

ReplyDeleteThis is what i liked the most because it shows to me how you will use it in the future.
It is true that sometimes students might struggle to deal with the pace of webinars. It might be too demanding and for those that do not have a decent internet connection it would be a lost battle. Thank you for sharing your opinions on webinars!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing thos reflection with us . I agree that sometimes it would be difficult for students to be part or webinars for reasons you mentioned. Congratulation !
ReplyDeletethanks for making this short and very comprehensible, and of course while we make use of these tools for teaching we do improve our teaching skills, we should also motivate them and consequently it will be easier for us.
